Warner Music India has released season two of "Maati," its folk music franchise, marking the milestone with the Sufi qawwali "Jalwa-e-Jaanaan" on 3 September. The launch matters as it builds on the success of the franchise's first season, which reached more than 78 million streams since debuting in October 2024, and reflects a broader push by Warner Music India to spotlight regional folk traditions on a wider stage while giving local artists and communities greater recognition.

The eight-track season will roll out across eight languages, including Koshur/Hindi, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Telugu, Haryanvi, Urdu and Kannada. The opening track was composed by Anurag Saikia, with vocals by Jyoti Nooran and lyrics by Shakeel Azmi, drawing on the Sufi concept of Wahdat al-Wujud, or the Unity of Being. The season's wider lineup features artists such as Shubha Mudgal, Alif, Kalpana Patowary, Mangli and Satindar Sartaj, with each track tied visually and thematically to a specific place and tradition.
