Warrant drummer Steven Sweet has said his prostate cancer has been successfully treated, but that he continues to live with several serious physical problems. Speaking in a new interview, he described the lasting effects of prostate removal and other injuries, while saying he intends to keep playing drums for as long as he is able.

Sweet was diagnosed with moderately progressive prostate cancer in 2018, but doctors determined it had not spread beyond the prostate, so he chose surgery. He said the operation affected urinary control and sexual function, and he underwent a further spinal fusion two weeks later; since then he has also had a hip replacement, severe shoulder and hand arthritis, and an inoperable torn bicep tendon. Although he said he is “pretty good” overall, he acknowledged that he presents a strong exterior while struggling internally with ongoing health issues.
