Former Nightwish singer Anette Olzon has launched a European summer tour dedicated to the two albums she recorded with the Finnish symphonic metal band, "Dark Passion Play" (2007) and "Imaginaerum" (2011). The tour opened on 25 July at Kaaos Festival in Vaskiluoto, Vaasa, Finland, marking her first time performing on the continent since being dismissed from Nightwish in 2012, an event that matters to fans as it revisits a distinctive era of the band's history that has rarely been played live since her departure.

The Vaasa show, backed by a band including Filipe Duarte, Sanzio Rocha, Kiko Lopes and Vithor Moraes, featured a setlist of seven Nightwish tracks from her era, including "Amaranth" and "Bye Bye Beautiful". The tour follows a similar celebration Olzon held in Brazil last autumn, her first time performing these songs live as a solo artist. In a new interview, she said she had needed to overcome years of bitterness before revisiting the material, and revealed she had emailed Nightwish's Tuomas Holopainen without receiving a reply, adding she would welcome a reunion of all the band's former singers if he ever proposed one.
