Arca premiered music from her forthcoming album ‘XXXXX’ during a two-hour livestream directed by Daniel Sannwald, staged in an abandoned Barcelona factory. The performance offered the first full public hearing of the record and underlined Arca’s continued focus on ambitious, experimental visual art alongside her music.

The album is due on 31 July through XL Recordings and will be Arca’s first new release since her ‘Kick’ pentalogy concluded in 2021. It contains 16 tracks and has been described by Arca as darker, more aggressive and more experimental; the livestream included songs such as ‘Willow’, ‘Taconeando’, ‘Grip’, ‘Fxck’ and ‘Finisher’, with the latter pair accompanied by paint and synthetic blood imagery.
