WATCH: Felony suspect’s ocean getaway unravels after 90-minute standoff with lifeguards
A man with an outstanding felony warrant attempted an unconventional escape by entering the Pacific Ocean off Will Rogers State Beach in Los Angeles County on Thursday. He remained in the water for approximately 90 minutes whilst remaining at large.
Los Angeles County lifeguards responded to the situation and eventually surrounded the suspect in the ocean. Working together with law enforcement, the lifeguards helped bring the man into custody, ending the prolonged standoff.
