Fontaines D.C. debuted their new song 'Happy For You' live for the first time at Leeds Festival, closing the main stage on 29 August after headlining Reading a night earlier. The track had originally been due to premiere at Reading, but the Irish band's set there was delayed by around half an hour due to technical and logistical problems, forcing three songs, including 'Happy For You', to be cut from the setlist.

'Happy For You' is a slow-burning track from the band's upcoming fifth album 'Dopamine Chamber', out 16 October via XL Recordings, on which frontman Grian Chatten sings about coming to terms with the end of a relationship. At Leeds, the band also played 'Big', though 'Hurricane Laughter' again missed the cut, while other new songs 'Marianne' and 'Six Shot Morning' featured as well. The performances marked Fontaines' first Reading & Leeds headline slots, coming shortly after the death of their longtime manager Trevor Dietz in June, which the band referenced on stage and on their equipment.
