Watch Harry Styles cover Talking Heads’ ‘Psycho Killer’ (and dress as NYC ‘pizza rat’) at final night of MSG residency
Developing story first seen 1 hour ago
New details from Harry Styles’ final Madison Square Garden show highlight its Halloween costumes and a guest appearance by basketball player Jalen Brunson. Styles closed his 30-date residency on 31 October with a 22-song set that included his first live performance of Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer”.
He began in a rat costume carrying a large pizza slice, referencing New York’s viral “pizza rat” video, before changing into an outfit with rat ears and a tail. His band dressed as New York staples, and Brunson briefly joined him to present a commemorative banner; the venue also displayed residency memorabilia. Styles is due to play in Melbourne and Sydney before resuming his tour next year across the UK, Europe, the US and elsewhere.

Explained simply
Madison Square Garden, often called MSG, is a large indoor arena in New York that hosts concerts and sports. A residency is a run of shows by the same performer at one venue, rather than a tour that moves between cities.
Harry Styles is an English singer who first became known as a member of One Direction before building a solo career. Talking Heads were an American rock band, and “Psycho Killer” is one of their best-known songs. “Pizza rat” refers to a New York internet meme based on a rat carrying a slice of pizza.
