Watch Jesus Rappel Down a Cliff in the TV Crossover Event of the Summer: ‘The Chosen’ x Bear Grylls

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for "The Chosen in the Wild With Bear Grylls", a six-episode crossover series pairing the cast of the hit biblical drama "The Chosen" with survivalist Bear Grylls. The stars, including Jonathan Roumie (who plays Jesus), take part in extreme wilderness challenges such as skydiving, cliff rappelling, scorpion-eating and ziplining, while also discussing faith with Grylls. The show reflects both a slow summer TV schedule and a new content deal that brought "The Chosen" rights to Amazon MGM Studios.

The series premieres on 9 August 2026 and is produced by Dallas Jenkins' 5&2 Studios alongside The Natural Studios and Workerbee, following a 2025 agreement giving Amazon MGM streaming and theatrical rights to "The Chosen" franchise, including its final two upcoming seasons. Filming locations include Utah's Castle Valley and Canyonlands, the Ausable and Colorado rivers, the Great Basin Desert and the Adirondack Forest. Grylls, a self-described Christian who has written faith-based books including "The Greatest Story Ever Told", is billed as guiding the cast through personal conversations about faith as well as physical challenges.
