Watch Lorde bring out Charli XCX for ‘Girl, So Confusing’ at Lollapalooza
Lorde brought Charli XCX on stage during her Lollapalooza headline set in Chicago on 30 July, where they performed ‘Girl, So Confusing’. The appearance continues a series of live collaborations between the pair and highlights the song’s transformation from a track about perceived rivalry into a public creative partnership.
Lorde performed the collaboration after playing ‘Man Of The Year’ from her latest album, ‘Virgin’, while Charli was due to headline the festival the following night in support of ‘Music, Fashion, Film’. The original ‘Girl, So Confusing’ appeared on Charli’s 2024 album ‘Brat’ and was inspired by tensions and jealousy she had felt towards Lorde; Lorde later proposed joining a remix. Both artists have further festival and tour dates scheduled, including Charli’s Reading & Leeds debut and Lorde’s All Points East performance.
