Matthew McConaughey joined Jimmy Fallon for a live bluegrass rendition of Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ on The Tonight Show. The performance drew a positive reaction from Langley, underlining the actor’s longstanding connection to Texas and his willingness to venture into music-related appearances.

McConaughey, who is from Austin, performed the song during the programme on 12 August alongside Fallon. Langley’s 2025 hit reportedly topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and reached number three in the UK; she responded to the clip online with “Omg”, while country singer Afton Prater called for it to be released on Spotify. Langley released her second album, Dandelion, in April.
