Michelle Branch and Gregg Alexander of New Radicals have reunited nearly 25 years after co-writing "The Game of Love" for Santana and Branch, releasing a new duet version of the song alongside its first accompanying music video. The reimagined track has already debuted at No. 33 on Billboard's Adult Pop Airplay chart, marking a notable comeback for Alexander, whose New Radicals have not appeared on camera in 28 years.

The video, directed by Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa Stone, was inspired by a real encounter Alexander had in New York's Washington Square Park, where he followed a stranger carrying a huge boombox through the crowd. The release follows a broader resurgence for New Radicals, including their first new song in decades, "One Night Only (Break Loose Break Free!)", featured in the rom-com One Night Only, which opened on 7 August. Alexander also noted the enduring popularity of the band's 1998 hit "You Get What You Give," citing continued Shazam searches and recent covers by artists including Benee and Geese.
