Stephen Wilson Jr. performed Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike” with Eddie Vedder at Ohana Fest in California, bringing together his country songwriting with his strong 1990s grunge influences. The collaboration highlighted Wilson’s reputation as a grunge-country artist and delighted the festival crowd, particularly as Vedder joined him unexpectedly for the closing song.

The original 1991 track was a duet between Vedder and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, recorded for a tribute album to Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood. Wilson, who recorded his own version for his 2025 EP Blankets, sang Cornell’s part, while Vedder performed his original section; Wilson is also preparing a follow-up to his 2023 debut album, Son of Dad.
