Wayfarer Studios Sets Six For Coming-Of-Age Feature Drama ‘The Alchemy Of Being Okay’
Wayfarer Studios, Familiar Stranger and Amanat Films are making The Alchemy of Being Okay, a coming-of-age drama led by Yasmeen Fletcher and featuring five other actors. The film marks Sarah Mokh’s feature directorial debut and follows a teenager whose hopes for a new life are unsettled by grief and family pressures.
Fletcher plays Nora, a 17-year-old in the Midwest who wants to leave for college in New York after a tragedy. Her mother, Amina, tries to hold the family together while her father, Bassam, faces personal struggles; Nora is also drawn between a classmate, a friend of her father’s and a teacher who once encouraged her writing.
