We now know GTA 5’s latest lifetime sales count, and it’s larger than Devin Weston’s ego

Grand Theft Auto V has surpassed 230 million copies sold worldwide since its 2013 release, according to Take-Two Interactive’s latest fiscal report. The figure reinforces the game’s exceptional longevity across several console generations and PC, helped substantially by the continuing popularity of GTA Online as anticipation builds for GTA VI.

The Grand Theft Auto series has sold nearly 475 million copies in total, meaning GTA V alone represents more than half of franchise sales. The article describes it as the third best-selling game ever, behind Minecraft and Tetris, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has reached 87 million copies and its series exceeds 116 million. GTA V’s sales have been sustained through releases on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
