WEBTOON Officially Unleashes a Terrifying New Villain Upon Gotham City in New DC Horror Comic

WEBTOON has launched *Gotham By Daylight*, a DC horror series that shifts the danger from Gotham’s familiar night-time shadows to the bright hours of day. The story matters because it puts Duke Thomas, the daylight hero known as The Signal, and ordinary Gotham residents at the centre of a threat that Batman cannot simply confront after dark.

The first three episodes introduce The Daylight, a new villain whose light appears to infect people, drive them mad or bring them under its control, though the exact limits of its powers are still unclear. Duke works with a group of citizens whose lives have been affected by Gotham’s supervillains, while weighing his hero work against his responsibilities to his parents. Writer Mike Birchall’s story combines cosmic horror with a focus on community and Duke’s life beyond the Bat Family.
