Weezer guitarist Brian Bell has said the band’s film has already been completed and is expected to be released in 2027. The confirmation gives the first firm indication of its timetable after Rivers Cuomo initially revealed the project to audiences at Coachella last year.

Bell disclosed the update during the premiere of Green Day’s new film, Nimrods, while stressing that he was not meant to discuss it. Weezer and Green Day both emerged in 1994 and toured together on the Hella Mega Tour in 2021–22; a Weezer poster was also spotted in a Nimrods trailer, though it remains unclear whether Weezer’s film is being made by Live Nation Studios.
