Weezer Unveil New Single “C.E.O.”, Expand “Weezer: The Gathering” with New Tour Dates

Consequence · 3 hours ago

Weezer have released "C.E.O.," a new single from their forthcoming self-titled album (known as The Gold Album), and expanded their "Weezer: The Gathering" world tour with additional dates in Japan, Europe and the UK, set for early 2027. The song addresses themes of ageing and inner pressure to succeed, and marks the latest step in the band's return with an album that reunites all four members writing together in their rehearsal space, a first since their debut record.

The accompanying music video for "C.E.O." features a star-studded cast including Tony Hawk, Michael Peña, Rob Riggle, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, depicting Weezer navigating the corporate music industry. The new international tour dates will see them supported by Taking Back Sunday, following a previously announced 32-date North American leg with The Shins and Silversun Pickups. The Gold Album, Weezer's 16th studio release, was co-produced by Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume (formerly Kenny Beats), and follows their 2021 record Van Weezer and the 2022 SZNZ EP series.
