"Weird Al" Yankovic is marking the 37th anniversary of his cult-classic 1989 comedy film UHF by releasing its original film score for the first time. Composer John Du Prez created the soundtrack using synthesizer technology from the late 1980s, and both artist and composer have celebrated the long-overdue release as a vindication of music they felt deserved broader recognition.

The soundtrack arrives through Yankovic's independent label Way Moby in three tiers, with the base edition offering 180-gram vinyl and the premium versions including facsimiles of the original script, 1989 Orion Pictures promotional materials, apparel, and other memorabilia. Du Prez's compositions draw from multiple cinematic styles, demonstrating what the release describes as orchestral pastiche across action-adventure and thriller genres.
