Sony’s A7R VI is presented as a high-resolution camera that largely removes the traditional compromises associated with 60-plus-megapixel models. Its combination of speed, silent operation and advanced autofocus makes it suitable for demanding work such as sports, weddings and photojournalism, as well as landscapes and studio-style photography.

The camera has a 66.8-megapixel stacked sensor and Bionz XR2 processor, enabling 30 full-resolution frames per second without viewfinder blackout. It also offers 8K video, 8.5 stops of in-body stabilisation, AI-based autofocus and dual USB-C ports, but costs about $4,500. Lossless compressed RAW files average roughly 60MB, meaning a one-second 30-shot burst can consume 1.8GB of storage.
