West Ham confirm Scott Parker as head coach after sacking Nuno Espírito Santo

West Ham have appointed Scott Parker as head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract, following the dismissal of Nuno Espírito Santo on Tuesday. The club hope Parker can revive their season after consecutive defeats, with the team eighth in the Championship.

Parker’s first match is away to Cardiff on Wednesday. He has guided Burnley, Bournemouth and Fulham to the Premier League, and returns to West Ham, where he made 129 appearances from 2007 to 2011. He has been without a club since leaving Burnley after their relegation last April.
