Wet Leg Cover The Cardigans For Deutsche Telekom’s New Gen Z Campaign
Wet Leg frontwoman Rhian Teasdale stars in a new Deutsche Telekom campaign called "Not A Passenger," aimed at Gen Z audiences and framed around reclaiming personal agency amid the noise of social media, influencers and AI content. The accompanying video is styled as an homage to the Cardigans' 1998 video for "My Favorite Game," with Teasdale battling influencer-like "demons" pushing self-care fads and AI slop, and it includes a snippet of Wet Leg covering the song.
Teasdale said the campaign's message resonated with her given the constant stream of online opinions, both supportive and misogynistic, that come with running social media accounts alongside being in a band. To mark the campaign, Telekom Electronic Beats is staging an event on 26 August at a former garage workshop in Berlin, with Wet Leg headlining and Lava La Rue and Wolfram opening.
