Wet Leg's frontwoman Rhian Teasdale has revealed in a new interview with The Cut that she was "kicked out" of her GCSE music course at school for falling too far behind the rest of the class. Now a successful musician, she reflected on how she has had to work to "demystify" music-making for herself, having not grown up in a musical household, and hit out at "gatekeepers" who suggest songs must be technically complex to be worthwhile.

Teasdale said the first song she attempted on guitar was Kings of Leon's 'Molly's Chambers', describing it as an "epiphany" to realise one need not be a virtuoso to enjoy playing. She has previously spoken about how pursuing music initially made her unhappy before the band's breakthrough. Wet Leg's second album, 'Moisturizer', was named NME's 22nd best album of 2025 and earned a four-star review, while the band teased in November 2025 that their third album is already finished, and recently shared a HorsegiirL remix of their single 'CPR'.
