Fields of Mistria is a fantasy-themed farming and life simulator from independent studio NPC Studio, part of a wave of games building on the popularity of Stardew Valley, which reinvigorated the genre after its 2016 release and has since sold more than 50 million copies. Players take on the role of a new farmer in the earthquake-damaged town of Mistria, growing crops, raising animals, repairing buildings and befriending townspeople, while the game distinguishes itself with more expansive character creation and a storyline steeped in magic.

The game entered early access on Steam for PC players in August 2024 and quickly proved popular, racking up more than four million player hours in its first month. Beyond the familiar farming-sim activities such as fishing, mining and crafting, Mistria introduces magical abilities granted by a dragon called Caldarus, including spells to summon rain or restore stamina, alongside broader gender-expression options than Stardew Valley currently offers and notable accessibility features.
