What to Expect in ‘Adults’ Season Two: A Love Triangle, Secrets, and One of the ‘Girls’

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

The second series of FX comedy Adults will shift its focus from its characters’ early-adulthood mishaps towards more complicated relationships, led by a love triangle involving Paul Baker, Issa and Anton. Creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw say the new episodes aim to deepen the five friends’ personalities and relationships, reflecting the way viewers have connected with the characters as forms of self-analysis.

The eight-episode first series, about five housemates in Bayside, Queens, premiered in May 2025 and was renewed five months later. Ahead of series two, FX will release a surprise prequel episode showing how the group formed, including the first meetings between Paul and Issa and a suggested closer connection between Paul and Anton; the show is executive-produced by Nick Kroll.

  • Series two centres on a Paul, Issa and Anton love triangle.
  • A prequel episode will reveal how the friendship group began.
  • The comedy returns with deeper relationship drama.
