Polygon has published a guide for Beast of Reincarnation explaining where to find and how to use "charms," the magical necklaces that serve as the main equipment for the character Koo, boosting stats such as attack power, health and critical rate. The guide matters for new players because charms are easy to miss early on, with the only ones on the game's first map hidden in optional areas rather than handed out through normal progression.

The article lists eight early-game charm locations in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone, found on rusted golems, in crates, strongboxes and a sewer container, including one obtained via a code (08110) dropped by an elite golem. From the third map onwards, charms drop more commonly from enemies, particularly golems. All charms are found "decayed" and must be identified at a campsite campfire, gaining one primary and one secondary stat at a random rarity level (1 to 3); players can reroll stats by saving before collecting a charm from a box, though this trick doesn't work on charms dropped by defeated enemies.
