Lana Del Rey has revealed she secretly recorded a surprise companion album called Spyda alongside her long-awaited country record Stove, telling fans in an Instagram post on 15 July that the two projects are "cosmic twins". The announcement extends the saga around Stove, which has been in the works since 2024 under various working titles, and gives fans another release to anticipate while the original album's timeline remains uncertain.

Del Rey described Spyda as a "commentary of sorts" reflecting the doubt, patience and change she experienced while Stove came together, crediting a large team of unnamed collaborators for helping her compile it. Neither album has a confirmed release date, though she said she needs about another month to finish both before sending them to vinyl. Stove has already spawned singles including "Tough", "Henry, Come On", "Bluebird" and "White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter", the latter produced with Jack Antonoff and co-written with her husband, Jeremy Dufrene.
