Whoopi Goldberg warns Democrats to ‘take care of business’ after midterm wins
Whoopi Goldberg urged Democrats to prioritise voters’ needs after winning control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections. She told them to set aside internal disputes and focus on “the people’s business”, as the new majorities are due to take power in January 2027.
On “The View”, Texas senator-elect James Talarico said he would work with Donald Trump on cost-of-living relief, including a temporary suspension of federal fuel taxes that he said could cut petrol prices by 18 cents a gallon. He also linked longer-term price reductions to ending the war in Iran. A conservative media group criticised Goldberg’s praise for Talarico and alleged the programme had campaigned for Democrats; ABC had not immediately commented.
