Jane Seymour says she has no intention of leaving Malibu, despite repeated evacuations caused by wildfires. She values the area’s natural beauty and close-knit community, and says living near nature requires respect for its risks.

Seymour has lived on her oceanfront estate for more than 30 years; she bought the 6,326-square-foot property for $3.4 million in 1994. She says the home has faced at least half a dozen fires, including a 2024 blaze that came close to destroying it. She has made fire-conscious changes to the garden, follows fire department advice and has a plan involving hydrants and a pool system; she also launched a lab-grown diamond jewellery collection with QVC on 6 November.
