Lorena Wiebes won the opening stage of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, outsprinting a reduced group in Lausanne to take the first yellow jersey. The Dutch rider’s victory reinforces her status as the leading sprinter in the women’s peloton and gives her team an early advantage in the nine-stage race.

Wiebes survived a 1.5-mile climb at 4.1% shortly before the finish, then launched her sprint with 200 metres remaining to beat Kim le Court-Pienaar by a bike length, with Demi Vollering third. The 85.5-mile stage was completed in 3 hours 29 minutes 11 seconds; defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot finished in the same group, while Britain’s Pfeiffer Georgi was 25th, 22 seconds behind. Wiebes’ sixth Tour de France Femmes stage win extends her record since the race returned to the World Tour in 2022.
