Armed Fantasia: To the End of the Wilderness, a spiritual successor to Wild Arms, has been cancelled by publisher 505 Games and parent company Digital Bros. The decision follows repeated attempts to revise its gameplay, ending a project that had been announced four years earlier and led by former Wild Arms developers.

The game was originally revealed through a Kickstarter campaign pairing it with Penny Blood, a Shadow Hearts successor; together, they raised around $2.5 million after reaching their $750,000 target in a single day. Armed Fantasia’s designer, Akifumi Kaneko, said in 2022 that the project had been pitched to Sony several times, but Sony declined to publish it. No information has yet been provided about Kickstarter backers, who remain without clear answers about the project’s cancellation or their pledges.
