Will that do? Lamine Yamal conjures another magical spell as Barça pass first test | Sid Lowe
Barcelona beat Real Betis 5-2 in Seville, with Lamine Yamal opening the scoring after nine minutes with a superb solo goal. The win gave La Liga leaders Barcelona a first major test against a high-ranked opponent, while Yamal’s performance reinforced his growing influence.
The 19-year-old had scored days earlier against Galatasaray with what he called an “almost rabona”; against Betis, he created the move with an outside-of-the-boot pass before dribbling past defenders and finishing in the far top corner. Coach Hansi Flick praised his display, and Betis supporters whistled as he left the pitch before the 90th minute.
