Wispr Flow, a dictation app, appears to be preparing to launch a meeting notetaker feature, based on changes to its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy that reference "Meeting Data" and a "Notetaker" tool. The move would expand the startup beyond speech-to-text transcription into the crowded meeting assistant market, putting it in direct competition with established players such as Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter and Fathom.

The updated terms state that the notetaker's inputs could include meeting audio, participant information, metadata, speaker labels and transcripts, with outputs comprising AI-generated summaries, action items and other meeting-related content. It remains unclear whether Wispr Flow will build a Granola-style tool that transcribes without retaining a recording, or a full recording product. Co-founder Tanay Kothari has previously spoken about developing an AI assistant, and such a feature would give the company deeper context on users to automate more tasks. Wispr Flow has raised over $81 million and was valued at $700 million at its last funding round, with Bloomberg reporting in May that it was in talks for a new round valuing it at $2 billion; the company did not respond to a request for comment.
