Witcher Developer Officially Gives Big Update on New Game
CD Projekt Red says work on Project Hadar, its first original game world, has moved beyond initial world-building. The team has begun developing the game, though it has not entered pre-production, marking a substantive step forward for a project that has remained mysterious since its announcement.
CEO Michał Nowakowski said the world vision took several years to complete and that the studio is now making small prototypes and testing gameplay elements. CD Projekt Red has not given a release date; its announced slate also includes The Witcher 4, planned for 2028, and a Witcher 3 expansion expected in 2027.
