Brooklyn boxer Edgar Berlanga Jr. has released his debut single, “Baby Mama”, and says he is serious about building a music career alongside boxing. Backed publicly by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Rick Ross, he is aiming first at the Spanish-language market while preparing to face Steven Butler at Madison Square Garden.
Berlanga said the track had reached 1.2 million YouTube views and described music as something he grew up around and finds as energising as training. He says he has further releases planned, but intends to prioritise his bout with Butler, which he predicts he will win, before focusing more fully on music.
