WNBA Names Catbird Official Jewelry Partner, Launches Limited-Edition Basketball Collection

Variety · 2 hours ago

The WNBA has named Brooklyn-based jeweller Catbird as its first-ever official demi-fine jewellery partner, with the pair launching a limited-edition collection on 1 September to mark the league's 30th anniversary season. The tie-up sees Catbird extend its growing list of entertainment and pop-culture collaborations into professional sport, giving fans a fine-jewellery way to show team allegiance while the WNBA leans into a year of milestone celebrations.

The collection features three charm designs: a Jumpwoman Charm replicating the league's logo silhouette and engraved with a 30th-season mark, a customisable Engravable Basketball Charm, and a City Letter Charm using team tricodes representing eight cities. Pieces are made in sterling silver and 10-karat solid gold, starting at $74, and the campaign imagery stars New York Liberty founding players Teresa Weatherspoon and Sue Wicks. The launch forms part of a wider 30th-season programme marking three decades since the league's 1996 approval and 1997 debut, including archival campaigns, merchandise drops and a countdown of its 30 greatest plays.
