Woad & Hull in contention going into Open final round

BBC Sport · 4 hours ago

England’s Lottie Woad and Charley Hull remain in contention before the final round of the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes, although both trail American leader Yealimi Noh. Their positions matter because Hull is still seeking her first major title after five runner-up finishes, while 22-year-old Woad is continuing to establish herself among the leading contenders in women’s golf.

Noh leads on seven under after a third-round 69 in difficult winds, with five players sharing second on four under and Woad a further shot back after a 70. Hull recovered from three early bogeys to post 71 and stand at two under, five strokes behind, while world number one Nelly Korda is eight shots adrift after a double bogey at the 18th.

  • Woad and Hull remain within reach of the Women’s Open lead.
  • Yealimi Noh leads by three shots at seven under.
  • Hull recovered late after a difficult opening six holes.
