WOLF Releases ‘Death Satellite’ Single From Upcoming ‘Hour Of The Wolf’ Album

Blabbermouth · 4 hours ago

Swedish traditional heavy metal band WOLF have released "Death Satellite", the first single from their tenth studio album, "Hour Of The Wolf", due out on 20 November 2026 via Fireflash Records. Formed in 1995, WOLF are widely credited as pioneers of the new wave of traditional heavy metal, and the new record continues their long-standing refusal to chase modern or retro trends in favour of a classic sound.

Frontman Niklas Stålvind said the band aimed to make an album that would fit on one side of a 90-minute cassette, listenable start to finish, and described "Death Satellite" as a quintessential WOLF track with lyrics offering "food for thought" alongside headbanging appeal. The album was recorded entirely in the band's own studios, with bassist Pontus Egberg (also of KING DIAMOND) producing, and features artwork by veteran illustrator Thomas Holm, known for classic MERCYFUL FATE and KING DIAMOND covers. Pre-orders have opened, with the album available on CD, three vinyl variants and digital formats, and the "Death Satellite" video was directed by Cannes-winning filmmaker Snovonne "Sno" Drake.
