Woman aged 19 suffered death worthy of worst horror movie at hands of friend, 19, and her boyfriend, court is told
Prosecutors allege that Morgan Bauer, 19, was murdered in Georgia in 2016, two weeks after moving from South Dakota to Atlanta. Her friend Katelyn Goble and Goble’s boyfriend, Alex Warren, are accused of luring Bauer to a Newton County home, where she was strangled; the case matters because Goble is now on trial for murder after years without her remains being found.
The prosecution says Bauer’s body was mutilated and dismembered over several days, while Goble’s lawyers contend that she did not take part in the killing but assisted with disposal of the body. Warren received life imprisonment without parole in 2024; Bauer’s bones were located in Porterdale in 2023, and Goble faces charges including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, evidence tampering and concealing a death.
