Tichina Marshall, 29, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree murder for stabbing a former co-worker at a Wendy’s in Danville, Illinois. The attack left the victim with serious head injuries, and prosecutors said the sentence reflects its violence and lasting effects.

The stabbing took place on 26 May 2025, after Marshall entered the manager’s office and threatened to kill the victim; prosecutors said she had made a similar threat a month earlier. The victim suffered a deep head wound and fractured skull. Marshall must serve 85% of her sentence, followed by three years of supervised release, with 477 days already spent in jail credited towards it.
