Actor Woody Harrelson is producing a feature-length documentary about Armadillo World Headquarters, the legendary Austin music venue that helped define the city's identity as the "Live Music Capital of the World". The Texas native is deepening his ties to Austin's creative community through the project, which will trace the venue's rise, its role in the "cosmic cowboy" movement, and its lasting cultural legacy as a crossroads for outlaw country, rock, blues and counterculture.

The film is in development with a team including director-editor David Brodie, producers from MakeMake and Passion Point Collective, and executive producers Jeremy Plager and Ilya Bronchtein. It draws on a restored archive of more than 100 audio and video recordings from the venue's heyday, featuring performers such as Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Fats Domino, Waylon Jennings and Charlie Daniels, alongside firsthand accounts from those involved. The project coincides with a wider revival of the Armadillo brand by a new Austin entity that has acquired the IP through a partnership with original owner Eddie Wilson.
