WORSHIP: The Brotherhood Taking Drum & Bass Worldwide
WORSHIP, the drum and bass project formed by Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock and 1991, is taking the genre to wider audiences through joint releases and live shows. Speaking during their sold-out Brooklyn tour stop, the DJs described their North American arena tour as a milestone and said they want to make drum and bass accessible while respecting its roots.
The members traced their early interest to jungle compilations and pirate radio, recalling how the music moved from an underground scene into UK chart success. They said they began aiming to build an audience in America five or six years ago, and are now looking towards Asia, including a first show in China, as well as further expansion in South America. Their music-making fits around busy touring schedules, often using laptops during flights and short breaks.
