Wrexham chief executive Williamson leaves after two years
Wrexham chief executive Michael Williamson has left the club after two years, with director Shaun Harvey named acting CEO. The change follows a period of rapid progress, including promotion from League One to the Championship, and comes as the club continues work to expand the Racecourse Ground.
Co-chairmen Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds thanked Williamson for his contribution but did not explain why he had departed. Harvey, formerly chief executive of the English Football League and Leeds United, has advised Wrexham since the 2021 takeover; the club has not set a timetable for appointing a permanent successor. Williamson also oversaw work on the new Kop stand, while Wrexham has recently been fined by the EFL for including ineligible players in matchday squads.
In short
- Michael Williamson has left Wrexham after two years as chief executive.
