Wrexham are closing in on a deadline day deal to sign Sheffield United midfielder Callum O'Hare for a permanent fee of around £6.5m, with the player set to undergo a medical at the Welsh club. The move comes despite O'Hare having two years left on his Bramall Lane contract, and follows criticism from Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, who accused Wrexham of a "blanket bombing" approach to the closing stages of the transfer window by pursuing numerous targets across the Championship.

O'Hare, who joined Sheffield United from Coventry City in 2024, has scored 13 goals in 97 appearances for the Blades, including in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City. If completed, he would become Wrexham's seventh summer signing, following the earlier deadline-day capture of Burnley defender Joe Worrall, alongside goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, wing-backs Danny Imray, Issa Kabore and Jacques Ekomie, and midfielder Ben Whiteman. Wrexham are also trimming their squad, having released Conor Coady by mutual consent, with several other players possibly departing before the 23:00 BST deadline.
