Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel Announced With Creator Back on Board, After Reports That Its Development Team Had Disbanded

IGN · 7 hours ago

A sequel to the acclaimed Soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been confirmed, despite earlier reports that its original development team had disbanded. The follow-up is being developed by Chengdu Indolphinity, a new studio founded by Wuchang creative director Xia Siyuan, working alongside publisher 505 Games, which acquired full rights to the franchise in April 2026. The announcement addresses uncertainty over the series' future after reports suggested Siyuan and several colleagues had left original developer Leenzee.

Reports had indicated Siyuan departed Leenzee, followed by other staff, after bosses reportedly pushed the team to move away from supporting Wuchang and onto other projects; the game has not been updated since November 2025. Siyuan said the new studio, made up of Chinese creators, remains committed to the franchise's cultural roots, while 505 Games expressed confidence in the series' long-term future. No release date or further details have been given, though the original game was well received, scoring 8/10 in IGN's review for its combat and level design.
