Wuchang: Fallen Feathers tops 5 million players despite dev team’s collapse

Eurogamer · 3 hours ago

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, the Wuxia action game developed by Leenzee, has surpassed five million players despite the apparent collapse of its core development team. The milestone is notable because it comes months after reports that Leenzee's senior staff departed and the remaining team refused to continue as a support studio, effectively disbanding the group behind the game. The game's continued commercial momentum, even amid a mixed critical reception and an absence of updates since November 2025, highlights how a title can keep attracting players long after its creators have moved on.

By March 2026, the game had already sold over a million copies following a strong launch, and it has since grown to five million players according to industry commentary shared online in July 2026. Eurogamer's own review characterised it as "Soulslike comfort food" offering solid but unsurprising action. Since the team's dissolution, director Xia Siyuan has founded a new studio, while the intellectual property rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers were fully acquired by Italian publisher Digital Bros for roughly €4 million in April.
