Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill have indicated they are open to making new Fugees music, raising the prospect of the group’s first album since 1996’s The Score. Their comments matter because the pair have had a long and sometimes difficult relationship, while the group has not recorded a full-length project together for three decades.

Speaking before Hill’s concert in Milton Keynes, Hill answered “Absolutely” when asked about future music, while Jean said they were in an “amazing place” and described an “incredible healing process” between them. The Score debuted at number one in the US and won the 1997 Grammy for best rap album; Jean has also mentioned unreleased outtakes and freestyles from its sessions. A complete reunion remains complicated because third member Pras Michel is serving a 14-year federal prison sentence.
