Microsoft is partnering with TCL to bring its Xbox app to the manufacturer's smart TVs "in the coming months", widening access to Xbox Cloud Gaming ahead of a new pay-as-you-go option launching in November. The pay-as-you-go tier will let anyone stream games without an Xbox Game Pass subscription, making cloud gaming more accessible to people who don't own a console, and Microsoft is also trialling free, ad-supported cloud gaming for Xbox Insiders.

Alongside this expansion, Microsoft is capping monthly cloud gaming hours for existing Game Pass subscribers: Ultimate members get 15 hours, Premium members get 10, and Essential subscribers just 5, with extra hours available to buy in bundles. TCL joins a growing list of TV makers offering the Xbox app, following Hisense's rollout on VIDAA OS TVs earlier this year, alongside existing support on Samsung, LG and Amazon Fire TV devices.
