Xbox version of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game delayed by over a month, less than 24 hours before launch
The Xbox release of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has been delayed by more than a month, with developer PM Studios making the announcement less than 24 hours before the game's scheduled launch. The publisher cited "unforeseen circumstances on a backend feature" as the reason, pushing the Xbox version back to 3rd September. The late timing has frustrated players, some of whom had already taken time off work to play on release day, and the announcement comes just before a rival title's open beta begins.
Nintendo Switch players will still get the game today as planned, but only the standard edition, not the deluxe edition available on PC and PlayStation. Switch will also launch without cross-play and without localisation beyond English at first, though PM Studios says it is committed to adding these features later. Xbox pre-orders will not be automatically cancelled, meaning affected players must cancel manually if they no longer wish to wait. The game's recent open beta had been well received, making the last-minute disruption particularly unwelcome timing for the studio.
- Xbox launch delayed from today to 3rd September over a backend issue.
- Switch version launches today but missing deluxe edition, cross-play and extra languages.
- Xbox pre-orders won't auto-cancel; players must cancel manually if unhappy.
