Years after they got married in-game to save money, these two Final Fantasy XIV players are getting married IRL
Two Final Fantasy XIV players, 404Eules and Koyuka28, have married in real life after their friendship, formed around the game, grew into a relationship. Their story shows how a shared interest and an in-game connection can become part of a couple’s real-world life.
They first married in the game to get Eternity Rings, which let players teleport to each other and save travel time. For their real-life wedding, they included Soul Crystals representing their characters’ Paladin and Dragoon classes; the song “Close in the Distance”, performed by Jason Carles Miller, also played at the ceremony.
