Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi movement has claimed a drone attack on a Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jazan, southern Saudi Arabia, saying it was retaliation for Saudi violations of Yemeni airspace. Saudi officials confirmed a fire broke out at the facility but reported no casualties and gave no cause, while the Houthis also said they targeted the Red Sea port of Mocha. The strikes mark a fresh escalation that risks reigniting Yemen's civil war, which had been largely dormant since a 2022 truce, and come alongside wider regional tensions involving Iran.

Elsewhere, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran will not resume negotiations with Washington until alleged US violations of an existing memorandum are addressed, listing demands including an end to threats and regional conflicts, the lifting of naval blockades and sanctions, withdrawal of US forces, war compensation, and release of frozen Iranian assets, though he confirmed indirect contact is continuing. Separately, Iran and Oman are reportedly close to a temporary deal to keep the Strait of Hormuz open to shipping without transit fees, intended to pave the way for renewed US-Iran nuclear talks within 60 days. The report also notes the Pentagon is stepping up weapons production after a five-month conflict depleted stocks of advanced missile interceptors.
